About Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish

A Polish, Roman Catholic Church, Our Lady of Czestochowa Apostolate was founded in 1995 under the leadership of Fr. Klemens Dabrowski of the Society of Christ in Phoenix, Arizona. This newly formed community on 7th Street celebrated the special church, consecration ceremony on the 24th of May 1997 by Fr. Bishop Thomas J O’Brien. On 18th of July 2000, Fr. Bishop Thomas J. O’Brien raised Our Lady of Czestochowa to the rank of Pastoral Mission. Later that year, Fr. Eugeniusz Bolda, SChr took over the pastor duties. In 2005, the decision was made to buy a larger church on 2828 West Country Gables Drive in Phoenix. The first Holy Mass at the new location was celebrated in March 2006. In 2008, by the decree of the Bishop the Polish Pastoral Mission was granted status of a Polish Parish Our Lady of Czestochowa. Under the leadership of the Polish American Congress, the Polonia celebrated the dedication of a monument to John Paul II. On September 18th 2010, Fr. Jacek Wesolowski TChr assumed responsibility of the parish Rector and continues to serve the Polish community faithfully to this day.
